Cookie & Storage Policy

Version of 6 September 2026

What this website stores on your device, why, and how to switch it off. The whole list fits on one screen — that is the point.

Your choices

Changes take effect immediately. Turning something off also deletes what was already stored for it.

Strictly necessary

Remembering the choice you make here. Without this we would have to ask you again on every page, and a refusal would not stick.

Cannot be switched off — this is what makes your refusal work.

A/B test (optional)

Stores one letter (A or B) in your browser and sends it along with a contact form submission, so we can see which version of a page performs better.

1. The short version

This website sets no advertising cookies, no social-media pixels and no cross-site trackers. There is no third party watching you here.

One thing is stored on your device, and you control it on this page: an optional A/B test that keeps a single letter in your browser. We do count how often each page is read, but entirely on our own server — nothing about that reaches your device, and there is nothing to refuse.

2. Everything this site stores on your device

ay_consent_v1localStorageRemembers the choice you make on this page, so we do not have to ask again — and so a refusal is actually honouredUntil you clear itNo — strictly necessary to respect your choice (art. 5(3) ePrivacy exception)
ay_ab_variantlocalStorageOne letter, A or B, that decides which version of the homepage text you see. It travels along with a contact form submission so we can see which version works betterUntil you withdraw consent or clear your browser storageYes — written only after you accept

That is the full list. If you refuse the A/B test, nothing but the consent record itself is stored.

3. How we count visits

There is no analytics script on this website. Not ours, not anybody else's. Nothing is loaded into your browser to measure you, nothing is stored on your device, and there is no identifier that follows you between pages or between visits.

What we do instead is count from the log our own web server writes anyway: which page was requested, at what time, from which browser, and which link you arrived by. Your IP address is shortened before it is written down — the last part is replaced by zeroes, which still shows us a country and an internet provider but no longer points at a person or a household. Those shortened lines are kept for 30 days and summarised into a report that contains totals, never individual visits.

Because nothing is read from or written to your device, the consent rule of art. 5(3) ePrivacy does not apply here and there is nothing on this page to switch off. That is the trade we made deliberately: a measurement that cannot follow you needs no permission, and it counts you just as well if you use an ad blocker.

This section used to describe cookie-less statistics through Vercel Web Analytics. That was written when the site was hosted at Vercel. It has since moved to our own server, where that script never loaded — so between the move and September 2026, nothing was measured at all, however firmly this page claimed otherwise.

4. Other requests your browser makes

  • —Google Fonts — the fonts of this site are loaded from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Your browser thereby passes on your IP address and browser details to Google Ireland Ltd. No cookie is set for it. We are moving these font files to our own servers so this request disappears entirely.
  • —Hetzner Online GmbH — this website runs on our own server in Germany. Delivering a page means processing the technical data of the request (IP address, time, page) and writing it to a server log, which we keep for a maximum of 30 days and use only to keep the site available and to stop abuse.
  • —Videos and images are served from our own domain. We embed no YouTube or Vimeo players, which is precisely why there is no cookie banner full of third parties here.

5. Managing this through your browser

You can also block or clear storage through your browser settings, or visit the site in a private window. Doing so does not break anything: everything essential to this website works without stored data.

6. Questions

More about what we do with personal data is in our Privacy Policy. Questions go to contact@addyouagency.com.

This page is the control panel, not just the explanation. Your choice is stored on your own device and applies to addyouagency.com.
